Study in Pharmacy

Hi guys,

I've got a question about studying pharmacy in the States. My friend,
Vicky,  plans to study chemistry in the University of Illinois in
coming Fall. She thinks it's helpful for her to enter in pharmacy
school in future. She also wants to work as a pharmacist in the States
after she finishes her Phar. course. But she's not sure how possible
she can get into the phar. school and the job perspect if she really
can be a qualified pharmacist. Here is her questions.

"""I'm now applying for Chemistry.  However, i've just talked with my
colleague's friend (she's going to study nursing in US in coming
August in Pennsylvania), she told me that I really want to study
Pharmacy, just taking those pre-requisite courses in my own Chemistry
programme may not enough.  Moreover, the licence in one state may not
be applicable in another state.   I should go to a school which
clearly state the programme as Pre-pharmacy, as the successful rate to
enter Pharmacy School without a clear path may be nearly to zero.  As
she goes to a different state and the programme is different, she
cannot provide further information to me.   I'm going to Illinois.  Do
u or ur brother have friends who have just graduated and is a
Pharmacist in US who can give me some advice?  he/she may leave an
email, a phone number, or recommend a reference book."""

So, could anyone like to help her to answer those sorts of questions??
Her email address is 'vicky_pang@hotmail.com'
Thanks

Ken

I can be of help. However, I make it a policy not to e-mail people whose
addresses are posted to NG's; they tend to be attempts to get someone
spammed. however, your friend may feel free to e-mail me at
miedvied@aol.com, in which case I'll gladly respond to her e-mail.
