Been listening to DOCTOR Dean Edell, he is a medical doctor.
He says that unless you're deficient in some vitamin or supplement
that buying these and taking them are a waste of money and time.

He says only in rare circumstance do people need to take these at all
much less daily.

Hard to know who to believe, a MEDICAL DOCTOR or you guys.

Do you have an actual quote? Dr. Edell does recommend supplements for
vegans.

Posters to this group have a variety of opinions on nutrition, so why
generalize.

If you eat a diet full of nutrient deficient highly processed foods,
where else are you to get these nutrients?

Dr. Dean Edell is an illegal drug druggie just like Dr. Andrew Weil
is.  Why do you think that Dr. Edell doesn't practice medicine?  He
couldn't hack it as an eye doctor.

Dr Edell says take all the pot that you want to, but don't waste your
money on vitamins.

Now, exactly who is the fool here?

Limiting your advice to ONE medical doctor that doesn't practice
(PRACTICE) is like letting any real estate agent pick ONE house for you
to see and insisting that you must but that one with out getting any
input at all on your personal needs.

"Medical doctors" generally take no courses and get limited information
on nutrition.  The drug sales reps that visit them regularly and give
them gifts push drugs, not health.  There is NO way I would take
nutritional advice from a doctor.  While this groups has its fill of
bullshit in abundance, there are people that have a clue here and there
to part of the puzzle.  You get to put that puzzle to optimum health
together yourself.  Throw out important pieces if you want to, at least
for yourself.

Nutrition/vitamin/mineral content of whole foods (you do eat that don't
you, not just fortified white rice, flour, sugar, etc.) has decreased in
some cases more than 50% over the past 40 years from farming methods and
soil depletion so someone eating a purely organic whole food diet will
will still be getting significantly sub optimum nutrition.

In the best of all worlds, supplements makers will make supplements,
people on both sides of the issue will argue their causes, and
individuals will get to make the choice of what to consume and what not
to consume without limits.

I have a game that I play on the computer.  It takes about 2 minutes and
45 seconds to complete without taking certain supplements and about 2
minutes and 15 seconds within a week after starting to take those
certain supplements sometimes getting down to 1 minute and 45 seconds.
People who don't take supplements like to think slowly and make poorer
decisions.  That's ok for them, but their attempts to lower the mental
and physical health of the rest of us who take supplements and avoid
McDonald's is an attempt to lower the quality of life to their limited
standards.

Now, I need to go take my morning supplements, eat some whole foods, and
wash it down with a cup of raw organic free trade cocoa sweetened with
stevia.

An excellent explanation. I hope its quality (and wisdom) is appreciated by
the OP.
