I been having a bloated stomach for about a month and unexplained
weight gain (about 5 to 8 pounds). I went to the doctor and she did
an
urinalysis. It showed I have moderate blood and protein in my urine,
ran a culture, everything is fine. Also, my LDL has jumped from 107
to
122 in a year. I'm 42 female. They can't find anything wrong, but I
feel like something is. I have been jogging everyday and eating a
1500
calorie diet and haven't lost a pound. Also been drinking tons of
water. What could be some possible
causes of this? They checked my thyroid and for diabetes, and
everything checks out fine.

The fasting glucose test for diabetes fails to diagnose most diabetics
until their disease is very advanced.

I'd suggest getting a free blood glucose meter at dlife.com or buying a
Walmart Relion meter and strips and testing according to this method:

If diabetes is your problem and protein is showing up in your urine,
you're a well advanced diabetic.  I've been diabetic for many years and
my fasting glucose has never hit diagnostic numbers as of yet.

If it's not high blood glucose, you need a thorough medical evaluation
with any eye to infections.

I had terrible bloating several years ago, but I lost weight.  Turns
out I had too little stomach acid, and then it became a protein energy
malnutrition issue, but also other problems emerged.  If you want to
read about "my story" and my nutritional and health research, you can
go to my free site:

If you have questions, you can ask me on the 2 forums there.

Also, you may find biologist Ray Peat's site useful:

Good luck.
