Is it ok to eat the skin as long as you wash them properly? Is their
nutrition in the skin? Are there a lot of pestacides in it? Is it any
different then eating an apple with the skin on?

I peel my carrots to reduce the chance of any bacterial contamination.
Carotene is the major pro-vitamin which gives the carrot its orange
color. Cooking doesn't reduce the carotene content appreciably and
probably results in a greater amount absorbed.

If they are ORDINARY CARROTS (Non Organic) you must Peel them
otherwise you risk getting large doses of organo phosphate pesticides
you loose a lot of the nutrients located under the carrots skin best
solution to this buy ORGANIC if you can afford it
an article about this was in the newspaper some years back.
