It is commonly held that 'chocolate' does
not cause acne. That acne arises from the
inflammation of pores due to hormonal
imbalance. However, I am curious
if anyone knows what study concluded this
and how they defined 'chocolate'?
Was it dark chocolate? Milk Chocolate?
Etc.

They compared dark chocolate with a trans-fat based candy bar and had
very little difference.
There is an Omega 3 and acne paper written in 2003 by Logan, but I
haven't been able to read the text.
I would theorize that saturated and transfats would tend to clog pores
because skin temperature is much lower than body temperature.
Omega 6 is reported to be effective for some skin diseases like
psoriasis.
