I tried some expensive mail-order homeopathic Arnica at 500mg 12C for a
chronic swelling problem that is unresponsive to conventional meds. It
seemed to help but the capsules were about $6/day and I want to take this
stuff daily. I tried some 30X tablets of unknown milligrams, from a local
store, which were cheap, but they didn't help. I suspect the problem is the
concentration. The same store has 30C pellets (the little blue vial
company) I can buy, but I don't know how many 30C pellets OR how many 30X
tablets equate to one 500mg 12C capsule?
Please share the math. I am competent with math, but this whole homeopathic
system is a mystery to me.

The math is dead simple.
There are two standard dilutions in homeopathy, X and C. In the former, one
drop of a solution is diluted with nine drops of solvent (i.e. 1 part in 10
parts), and shaken. The latter is a one part in 100 dilution.
The number preceding the X or C is the number of times the dilution was
completed. So, a 30C dilution is 1 drop in 100, thirty times sequentially.
If you know anything about molarity of solutions, statistically, anything
beyond a 12C dilution has little chance of having any active ingredient in
it whatsoever.
To consider your specific question, a 30C preparation has been diluted
one-hundredfold 18 times more than has a 12 C solution. Homeopathy holds
that this enhances the potency of the preparation.

Mg??? Could not be of the effective constituent. When diluted to 30
deg, the original atom is perhaps some place around Moscow or so at
the time of writing if you are in US. one Mol of stuff contain about
10*21 number of atoms. So, when diluted to 10**(-30), one atom left is
placed somewhere in 10**7 liter water. Quite a lot, eh??

You'll see 500mg 12C on the majority of the capsules in the pack. Those
work for me. But because they sell this stuff for post-surgical one-time
use, it's expensive. I have different usage needs, which are chronic, and I
want a way of duplicating what I get in their 500mg 12C capsules.
Suggestions?
Thanks.

The "X / C" are the roman numbers for the 10 and 100 marker respectively.
To get a more powerful drug, according to the homopathetic gospel, take a
"X" and put in a bunch of water to equal the dilution of the amount of "C"
you want.

Yes. Get some water of reasonable purity and dissolve *nothing* in it.

These tablets are also used in all medical experiments. They are
called placebo pills. They contain nothing than the dilution
principle, often chalk. Of course, that work. Believe in a pill always
cure a lot of people, it is just called placebo effects.
