I've been doing this for the last four years. I almost always skip
breakfast for a can of coke and a handful of vitamins and herbs every
single morning. This probaby seems unhealthy but I've been doing this
for more than four years and haven't felt any negative effects from it.
I usually drink the  coke as a filler for the vitamins and herbs as
I've heard it's not good to take supplements on an empty stomach. I
think at this point I'm addicted to Coke. I don't know what's in the
drink but if I go more than two days without having one, I'll get
depressed. It sounds odd but I swear it's the true.

Coke is not a healthy drink because of its high sugar content. It also
contains caffeine, which acts as a stimulant, and keeps you addicted.
The sugar and caffeine act to perk you up in the morning, which is why
when you go off Coke, you get depressed (low in energy most likely).

You do not see the negative effect now because you maybe young and in
good shape, but such things will exacerbate as we age.

Have you tried substituting the artificial sugars in drinks like Coke
with natural sugars from fruits? If your body is so used to having lots
of sugars in your system, it can be very difficult to go off sugar. But
avoiding sugars completely is nearly impossible because our brain needs
sugar, and will ask for it.

Try turning to natural sugars - for example healthy smoothie drinks in
the morning. The sugars come from natural sources like strawberries,
bananas, apples, cranberries etc. All you need is a blender to make
these drinks yourself in the morning.

Click on the link below, you will see a download link for a book at the
end of the article on "Health Benefits of Strawberries".

Ever hear of the coke diet?

Coke addicts don't eat and starve to death.

First of all you have been wasting money on vitamins. If you wash down
vitamins on empty stomach even with plain water, most of the vitamins
are passed through in the urine.

People drink coffee or tea in the morning. Coke is no worse or better
as far as caffiene is concerned. If you drink coffee latte or Garam
chai, the suar is no worse either. I am not making excuse for you to
drink coke everymorning. Just trying to explain that one can of coke in
the morning is no more harmful than coffee or tea in some cases. If you
want to get on healthy kick, replace cock with sugar free gingerale.
The bite in ginger may be the stuff that will break ur habit.

I wouldnt switch to diet coke. It has no less caffiene than regular
cock. Its diet because of sugar is replaced with aspartame.. The jury
is out on the effects of articial sweetneres again. It seems that every
time we come up with one, we find out later it does do u more harm than
figured at the time. Splenda seems to cut the mustard, but soft drink
industry is not moveing to Splenda yet because of cost.

If all his meals are as crappy as his breakfast he's not completely
wasting his money on vitamins.  ;-)

Emphasizing "some cases".  Plain hot tea has many health benefits and
even a cup of plain black coffee has some benefits and is a much better
choice than soda.

Personally, I wouldn't touch any artifical sweenters.  For me it's
blackstrap molases, honey, pure maple syrup or an unrefined sugar like
Rapadura.

Alot of vitamins are fat soluble, which means you need to eat something
with a bit of fat in it to absorb them. Read up on digestion and google
vitamin absorbtion. Obviously a can of Coke doesnt have any fat in it.
You have been wasting your money and pissing it out. Time to start
eating something for breakfast.

Due to the anatomy of the human brain, everything above three is
"alot". So, yes, 4 is alot.

Which also means that you don't have to take them first thing in the
morning.

But water-soluble vitamins are better absorbed without food.  In fact,
it's been shown that some of the B vitamins absorbed only in the upper
part of the digestive tract. What's passed down with food is not
absorbed at all.

> Time to start eating something for breakfast.

This conclusion simply doesn't follow.

Sugar is a slow poison. High fructose corn syrup is a bit faster acting
sweet poison. You figure it out. Is it healthy to drink this sh.t on a
regular basis?

why not try coffee. theres lots of health benefits to drinking coffee
as opposed to a mildly caffeined beverage flavored with high fructose
corn syrup. coke is basically sugar-water but its better than bacon,
bagels, and pancakes. i just realized that even those products have
High fructose corn syrup, especially in condiments we use to flavor:
fake maple syrup, jelly, ketchup. so i think its healthy, actually
after comparing your breakfast with a typical american breakfast.
CocaineDream@gmail.com - 15 Dec 2006 02:38 GMT
you can try peruvian coca tea instead of drinking coca-cola

Depends how they are made.

That's why you use pure Maple syrup.

Some jellies are decent.  Again, depends how it's made.

Ketchup can also be good.

Most everything "typical American" is low grade.  That's why you make
your own or read the labels and buy the best.

I agree. The food industry has aimed for low price, abundance, shelf life,
and quick or no preparation effort, health be damned. And the typical
consumer has gone along with it.

I would add "buy local when you can" to your  "make your own or read the
labels and buy the best."

The above comments just encapsulated a mindboggling amount of truth in
just three small paragraphs.
