I have read in about a hundred places to just shop the perimeter of the
super market for the most healthful diet. I do this but just can't get
out of the store without shopping the aisles also. Can anyone just
shop the perimeter?
In the center I buy oatmeal, canned or dried beans, canned tomato
products (Even in the summer, the fresh tomatoes seem to be made of
plastic), canned mackerel, salmon and sardines, canned pumpkin ( I
don't need this but it is fast, easy and a change from carrots and
sweet potatoes), pasta, rice, olive oil. I don't count the large
section in the center of my market that sells frozen fruits and
vegetables as an aisle. If I don't buy frozen along with the fresh
vegetables, I often either have the fresh too long to be worth eating
or have to go to the store very frequently to replenish supplies.
It occurs to me that maybe very low carbers are better at avoiding the
aisles. Looking at my list, I imagine you might not need to go into
the aisles at all unless you buy canned fish.

And oils, dresssings, low carb flax rollups, cooking sprays, paper
goods, cleaning suppliies, sweeteners, gadgets...
I will say that there are entire aisles I never have to visit, like the
baking needs, cereal/cookie/crackers aisles, and some aisles I visit rarely.
