Hope this is not totaly OT, but I would like to be able to have drinks
as well as other products that do not add sweetners of any kind and
allow me to add my choice of  sweetners. any thoughts on this? I get
light headaches when drinking aspartamine drinks and fat when I drink
the corn syrups etc. So of course, I seldom use them and select home
brewed teas, but would like to have some of the commercial stuff when
on trips etc.

Cuz it  has no taste, in face it has nothing. Try fruit juices not made
from concentrate.

Browse the SoBe line of drinks ..as an example:
http://www.sobebev.com/product%5Finfo/lean_energy.shtml

FruitWater and some of the other  Glaceau drinks:
http://www.drinkbetterwater.com/

You can read alot of reviews and ingredients of beverages at this
website:

The SoBe drinks are artificially sweetened.

The OP specifically said aspartame - not 'other sweetners'. No
aspartame in SoBe's.

The last link to BevNet gives ingredients to LOTS of products.
I am sure he could find many that would suit his criteria if he took
the time to read.
Here's another natually flavored water, no sugar/no artificial
sweetners:

I wasn't knocking your post. I read your links and found them interesting. I
don't like sweetened beverages and would be interested in some commercial
unsweetened drinks when traveling.

The OP also said, "I would like to be able to have drinks
as well as other products that do not add sweetners of any kind ..." He
wants to sweeten his drinks with something he likes and to the degree he
likes. My interest is in not sweetening at all, as I tend to like the
various unsweetened natural flavors of things.

Right on!. Also I tried to reply to your later post but couldn't find a
"reply" space on it. Since they changed the foremat on this as well as
other groups on Google I tend to get lost<G> , but I am agreeable to
the forcast of continued and worsening nutrician problems. I fear for
my great grands but also feel that we do have a lot of intelligent
people who will put their thinking and doing caps on and find some
answers. It must start with cleaning up our messes, and stop raping the
earth. It has taken too long for the ones with power to wake up to what
is happening, and it is a shame on those of us who do not do all we can
do to  support the serious ecologists. I wish I could do more.
sincerely, lee

Ok..I finally hit the right key and found the reply link. You are
right, that is what i wanted. I spend more time finding 100% fruit
juices unsweetened and not concentrated, and what little processed
foods I use with low sodium and no msg, with low fats as i get low fat
stuff then add a bit of  VFCP Olive oil to be sure I get some good fat.
Seems to be working as my right hand that was a bit mal formed with RA,
looks a LOT better, almost normal. Wrists are still enflamed but
better.
Sincerely, Lee

I would like them to say what kind of fructose they are using<G>
I use RO water with ultraviolet light. don't know as that does much
good, but tastes a lot better than our surface water supply.

I truly thank you for your responce, Joane, and I will browse Fruit
water tommorrow.
I do add some fruit juices and stevia sometime. I do get enough carbs..
sometimes a bit too much, and I do like sweets. too much.

sincerly, Lee

Are you so far from civilization that you cannot buy a tea or coffee?
Have you thought of taking a flask?  Your main problem seems to be that
if fizzy tooth rotter is in the shop you may actually buy it.

You don't have to be sarcastic. Flask? I take bottles of whatever I
choose so I don't have to buy the fizzy tooth rotters. BUT..I like to
travel light<G>

You specify what type of trip, e.g. trip to the beach, country park, or
national wilderness, or climate.  I have found, though, that in heat
adding a packet of rehydration salts (salts+ sugar) to my water a lot
more thirst quenching, and I don't end up with a belly full of water
with dry lungs and headache.
