Hello,
I have read completely opposite opinions about what to eat first for a
meal. Should I eat protein first or carbohydrates first, or does it
matter at all? It seems to me that: 1) if one wants to lose weight, one
should eat protein first, because protein makes one feel full faster so
that one does not overeat; 2) if one wants to have optimal absorption
of nutrients in the food, then one should eat carbohydrates first,
because protein takes longer to digest and if eaten first, may cause
carbohydrates to ferment in the stomach and lose the nutrients that
they contain. Is my conclusion reasonable?
Thanks.

Unless it takes a really long time to eat, it doesn't matter that much. It
all gets mixed together in your stomach before your stomach pushes it out
(hopefully into your small intestine, although it has been known to go
elsewhere).

Generally, one eats food.
And, it is just about impossible to eat one without getting the other.
