Are you a caricature, or what?
1) Who puts steroids or banned substances in their whey?
Do tell!
2) What the hell is "overkill" on protein or amino acids?
Isn't that why you want to buy it?
3) There is very wide usage of some really crappy
supplements, simply because they're backed by a
lot of marketing money.
4) By definition, whey protein is safe. Duh.
5) How do you know if it "works"? Were you expecting
massive gains from gulping down a few glasses each day?
You said you didn't want steroids in it, right?

I will try to answer these profound questions.

Those would be the extra special protein supplements discovered on the
crashed spaceships at Area 51.

That's OK. For Coolman, the more hype, the more valid and reputable it is.
> 4) By definition, whey protein is safe. Duh.
Except for the non food grade whey, used to make explosives.

No, he just wants a simple, basic, cheap whey that magically grows muscles.
Ya know, like synthol with built in artificial intelligence. Nothing
unreasonable.

Ah, yes...the protein powder from beyond the Milky Whey....

Ummm...I wouldn't go that far...there are legitimate stories of
athletes who bought a supplement (OK likely not whey protein) and then
later tested positive for a banned substance because the supplement
they got was [allegedly] adulterated with something other than what
was on the bottle contents. It happens.

When workers and probably leaders of the factory produce and pack
illegally steroids and other forbidden compounds during night and
don't clean the packing line, any compound the packing line is to pack
the day after will mix the product to be packed with left overs from
the nights production, and the first packages will contain probably
far more steroids than the goofy things they was thought to contain.

Optimum Pro Complex (CHOCOLATE!!) by far is the tastiest and I'm
pretty sure it meets all those criteria.
My friend who runs www.empowerwellness.com has recommended it to me
for quite some time. Your local health store should have it in stock.

Which one is better: pro complex or optimum 100% whey? Pro complex has more
protein but it is not all whey..

We (www.KiloHealth.com) currently carry Designer Whey - I prefer those
sweetened with Stevia. We are looking to carry this one:
Power Protein (PP) is the highest quality whey protein isolate
produced
through a selective ion exchange process. Power Protein has the
highest reported (PDCAAS) Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid
Score of 1.14. The fat and lactose levels are less than 1%. PP is
instantized and is sold with no sugar/carb, no vitamins/minerals(just
nauturally occurring) and no artificial flavors. Power Protein has
very little flavor even when mixed with plain water. Power Protein can
be mixed with water, milk, friut juice, friut smoothies and sport
drinks.
2lbs has apx 34 25gram servings.
1/3 cup = 25grams of protein.

Once upon a time, our fellow Coolman
rambled on about "Best Whey Protein."
Our champion De-Medicalizing in sci.med.nutrition retorts, thusly ...
>whey protein powde
Ha, ... Hah, Ha!
That stuff tastes like watered down powdered milk. :(
Give me natural tasting soy protein any day. At least it has a unique
taste to it.
Just thought that you might want to know. :)

THE PROTEIN INSIDER
An Inside Look at the Protein Business
by TC
... The following interview was conducted with someone I met a long
time ago while working with EAS. This particular individual who
doesn't want his name revealed works for one of the major
manufacturers of bulk protein. In other words, his company makes
protein powders for supplement companies who, in turn, sell them to
you.
... T: What about the time-release proteins that are starting to come
out?
PI: Well, I'm not the world's greatest protein scientist, and protein
catabolism/anabolism isn't my main area, but initially, a lot of lay
people, or bodybuilding-type self-professed scientists, thought that
providing a steady state of amino acids through an IV drip all day
long would be great! You'd have the ultimate protein synthesis going
on, and catabolism wouldn't exist, and you'd slowly evolve into this
super hero thing.
But in reality, your body's real smart, and it down-regulates it
beats you to the punch and a steady stream of amino acids doesn't
work after a few hours. Instead, it looks like pulse feeding giving
the body a shot of protein and amino acids every few hours is really
the best way to go. Hell, I really shouldn't even say that because I'm
shooting myself in the foot. A lot of companies want us to develop
these time-released proteins for them, and we stand to make some
money. So, it's kinda' dumb of me to say that they don't work. But,
what the hell.
Anyhow, it's probably better to go to bed after a protein meal, and
have some sort of period of "protein deficiency" at night, so your
protein response is super heightened when you break that fast. That's
why it's important not to skip breakfast...
"If you want the effects of slower digestion, time release, we
recommend adding flax or fish oil to the whey. This way, you don't
lose the positives of whey over casein, egg, etc."

Sorry, I mean any brand with a good name. I'm sure there are some off

I like Met-Rx. I've made noticably better progress with weights by
taking it twice (morning and evening) per day.

?!?!?! maybe you should look for a clue first
Save possibly #3, every whey protein will fit that criteria. Go to GNC and
buy their %100 Whey Protein and you'll do fine.

Brown goat cheese. It is made from pure goat whey.
Nothing added, just boiled and browned.

I just switched from Designer to Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey. I buy
the 10 lb bags online for $55.95, which is slightly cheaper than
Designer, plus ON is 23g/scoop as opposed to DW's 17.5g/scoop (and
yes, the scoopers (word?) are the same size). Both have full range of
BCAAs, glutamine, etc . . .

That made no sense at all. The amount of protein depends on the % of
actual protein in the product and the serving size.

But which do you want? The two are not the same.

Define works.
