It's not a cure, but it can block a biochemical pathway to some degree.
Avoiding oxidized cholesterol, any major source of unsaturated fat,
and eating some berries, dark chocolate, etc., will do the same thing,
but without any nasty side effects.  Tumeric in large amounts, like
other powerful antioxidants, can cause major problems.  Talking of it
as a "cure" is at best a misrepresentation, and in many cases this kind
of thing is said to get people to buy a supplement - and big profits
can be made.  They even sell cinammon pills now.  It's ridiculous.  Do
a google search for "ray peat" "carbon dioxide" and read through the
material on those web sites, and you'll get a better idea of how all
the claims fit together.  I remember the oat bran craze on the 80s.  I
was eating it, and then all of a sudden, the price tripled, and then
within a few years, it was much lower again.  Don't be fooled by this.
Don't you realize how every few weeks or so this kind of thing gets
announced by the media.  They are presenting this to you because they
don't do real journalism any more, but they know people like to hear
about the latest "miracle cure," so they can get ratings and sell
ad/commercial space to advertisers.
