Recent results of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey
(NHANES) 1999 indicate that an estimated 61 percent of U.S. adults are
either overweight or obese.1  In this population, obesity  has nearly
doubled from 1980 to 1999.
Obese individuals have an increased risk of developing chronic disease
such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and some types of cancer.  In
addition obesity is associated with increased risk of developing
osteoarthritis of the knees.
Although supplementation can aid in the management and prevention of
obesity as we will show from the research below, improving your diet
and exercise are the most important things you can do to improve your
metabolism and help your body shed the unwanted fat.2
Are there really any nutrients available today that help promote safe
fat reduction?  YES.  Although there are many supplements today that
contain herbs like Guarana, MaHuang and Ephedra that can have
potentially harmful side effects, there are still many that safely help
the body reduce its fat stores.
Lets look at some of the most researched and powerful nutrients:
CLA  (Conjugated Linoleic Acid)
A study published in The Journal of Nutrition (December 2000, V12)
established that the natural dietary supplement conjugated linoleic
Acid (CLA) reduces body fat in people who are overweight or obese.  Jan
Wadstein, MD, PhD, associate professor at Lund University in Sweden
states, "CLA may be valuable weight management supplement to any diet
regimen.  Keeping lean body mass and speeding up fat loss are the keys
to a successful weight program."3
Garcinia Cambogia
Another supplement essential for weight loss is natural organic acid
extract from the rind of the Malabar tamarind called Garcinia cambogia.
This compound has been associated with gradual decrease in body fat,
lowering serum triglycerides and cholesterol levels, improvement in
heart function and suppressing hunger cravings frequently.  A study
performed by Katts, et al, concluded the adminstration of Garcinia
cambogia reduced deposition of body fat and promoted increased weight
loss in human subjects.4 Citrin K is a proprietary formula proven to
suppress appetite and inhibit cholesterol synthesis in the liver.   The
best and most researched form of Garcinia cambogia can be found in our
proprietary blend called Citrin K.  Citrin K also supplies potassium,
which plays a major role in maintaining the body's fluid balance and
heartbeat.  There are other forms of Garcinia Cambogia on the market
but they don't have the potency guarantee that Citrin K does.

Other micronutrients that are needed to support body fat metobolism
include vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C and zinc and our patented form
of chromium.  Our supplement will supply you with the highest quality
of whole food vitamins and amino acid chelated minerals (See the
sections regarding Vitamins and Minerals for further information)

There is evidence that CLA increases insulin resistance. I would not call it
safe supplement as overweight people are often insulin resistant.
