topical zinc for skin

I was looking at topical zinc sprays and ointments and they sell for quite a
lot.

Is there any reason you couldn't use zinc from a capsule and make your own
spray/ointment. Is there something different about the type of zinc used in
the topical zinc preparations?

Thanks,
Stacy

I'd look and see what the _form_ of the zinc in the ointments are as
opposed to the form of the zinc in the vitamins. :-)

I'd have to check the ingredients list in both, then go from there.

If they are the same, I don't see why not!

There are some good e-mail discussion groups on YahooGroups.com for
making home made beauty products. Am thinking about re-joining one
myself! I want my sister's home made skin balm recipe. It was made with
olive oil and worked OH so well on calluses and cracked skin, and I'm
starting to get lifting calluses on my hands even tho' I wear gloves at
the gym.

Hope this helps?

Cheers!

You should be able to buy zinc ointment in the baby's aisle of most
pharmacies. It's very inexpensive.

Didn't know that. Thanks.

Natural health is about preventing lifestyle diseases, and little else.

Stacy, and her grow your own weeds to eat and make your own O-T-C
ointments, is NOT a spokesperson for the Natural Health movement.  Nor,
does she have a clue as to what she is talking about, in general.

Just thought that the public might want to know, that Natural Health
does NOT equate to a bunch of Kooks, like Stacy. :)

It would seem I have acquired a stalker....

Wow, I'm flattered. You just can't resist me can you? Apparantly not since
nothing you have said below makes any sense at all with anything I have ever
posted or my question about zinc.

And as someone who it seems is repeatedly *opposed* to "natural health", how
would you know anyway?

Go in peace my poor pathetic stalker. I wish you love and good health.

Nothing you have posted, on this topic, or anyother topic makes any
sense whatsoever. :(

I am simply trying to disassociate any connection between Kooks, like
you, and the natural health movement.  A lot of people make this
connection.

Have fun making your own zinc ointment.  Personally, I once bought a
generic brand at Wal-Mart a long time ago at a very reasonable price;
just like most normal people do.   Feel free to raise your own organic
chickens too, while you are drooling.

It is interesting that this individual states on his website the following:

"Attitude is dealing with other people. Your mind can heal by mobilizing
your body's innate healing powers. Attitude is about dealing with your
emotional states from love and compassion to fear and anger. "

Yet if you read his posts on the various newsgroups, he continually attacks
others who do not agree with him or disaprove of his irrational conduct and
continues to call people names like "idiot, nuts, <bleep bleep> etc., and
acts very nasty and just downright unbalanced.

Here is just one sample of his great attitude:

Then John responded:

Since you are just a low life pretending to be a human being, I am NOT
going to tell you.

Ha, ... Hah, Ha!  I have a long memory.

Just thought that you might want to know.
--------------------------------------------

Yet he wants to preach to people who may stumble on his website (who do not
know him) about "attitude".
This would put everything on his website into question.
Who would take advice from such an individual?

Poor creature that he is, I wish him well.

Lady, like I have told you a thousand times before.

You are not a spokesperson for natural health.  You do not have a clue
as to what the term actually means.

Natural health is about preventing lifestyle diseases, and little else.

http://naturalhealthperspective.com/tutorials/definition.html

You couldn't be rational if your life depended upon it. You are unable
to research simple information on the web, like how to buy seed, and
you certainly don't know how to research pubmed.

Your reading comprehendsion is close to zero.  And, you don't have a
clue about my web site, or how I have actually used the term 'attitude'
in it.

In short, you are the typical ding bat American female.

You have my condolences. :)

COMMENT:

Ah, the Natural Health movement. I know the one you mean. Brown, not
too hard, not too soft, well-formed. Does not float but sinks very
gently to the bottom of the bowl.

Mr. Gohde actually IS a spokeman for this movement. Pay attention to
his authority.

No, I don't think so. But by all means, You pay attention to his authority
if you wish.

You have no Higher Authority that you believe in as you have indicated, so
believe in his.

Peace & Love to you both.

Yeah, it was a lot of "blah blah blah" at your website. You try to talk the
talk but don't walk the walk...
Not surprised you want to cover up my post about it. For anyone interested,
see this creatures prior posted responses to people.

Peace & Love to You yet again....

How quick you have forgotten your support of my position and your
mocking of Stacy that you wrote just the other day, on the matter of
'Dear God Petition.'

COMMENT:

LOL. Afraid not. Given your only means of judging this, I'm flattered
you should think so, though.

That remark, BTW, was intended for Gohde and Stacy, and was not
intended as an overall description of posters on sci.med and
sci.nutrition. One finds nuggets of interest here, as on any newsgroup.
Even Stacy, when not blathering about god, may have something to
contribute. And even (so help me) Gohde. Since I haven't killfilled him
yet, even he must occasionally be worth reading. Perhaps as
entertainment.
