Hi all,

can someone please tell me how to find out nutrition facts of a dish.
Let's say I got a vegetable soup and I want to know the nutrition facts
of one portion.

Thanks!

Look on the can. Or, hit the USDA nutrition database.

In this case, you can look at the can and read the nutritional value
because it is always written in the can. Apart from that, you can
prepare the dish on your own.But before preparation, make sure you have
read about nutritional value either on the internet or in the textbooks
about nutritional diet. This depends on what you want to get from the
dish- is it protein? is it carbohydrate? or what?
In any case, if it is energy supply food, take carbohydrate dish like
potatoe. if you want more iron, prepare dish with liver and for your
enrichment in protein take plenty milk and prepare your dish with
cheese.
Thank you.
