I was a pretty early adopter of Splenda in my diet. It helped me to
stop having so much sugar every day, especially with soft drinks. I
used to drink about 3 cokes each day, and now I am down to one, and
that one has Splenda.
I think that Splenda is at least better than Nutrasweet (which I can't
tolerate), and I also believe it to be better than sugar, but
certainly I know it would be better not to have any of these. What
are people saying about Splenda these days?
Now that it is in Diet Coke I expect it will become even more
widespread.

Makes my nervous system go into convulsions! I find it so uncomfortable that
I almost jump off a bridge for about 30 minutes.
This doesn't always happen and I do not know why yet. Too afraid to
experiment with it anymore.

That was the experience I had with Nutrasweet!
But I have not had any trouble with Sucrulose.
What do you like to use for sweetener?

Who are you addressing? It appears only yourself.
I use cane sugar and honey. I prefer natural substances like vegetable based
sweeteners like cane sugar.

Yes, soft drinks are a little addicting. I stick with gingerale mostly in
restaurants or light beer. I always order a glass of water because it
flushes the sticky sugars down.

When I comsume splenda, I get major symptoms of a urinary tract
infection but this there no infection. I have major concerns about the
product. My daughter is just now getting of it too.
What I did to stop drinking sugary beverages was to add a bit of water
to my pop, diluting it a lttle more each week and finally now, I only
drink pop or juice at about 1/4 pop and 3/4 water. I mostly just drink
water. I have my 4 yr old granddaughter loving it that way too. She
drinks lots of water and requests is most of the time.
It really is all a matter of habit and habits can be changed when you
are willing to go through the withdrawl. It's so worth it.

Why don't the soda pop manufacturers just produce drinks with 1/4 the sugar
in it? I drink club soda and you can get used to anything.
Canada Dry produced a light gingerale like this when the cyclamates were
found to be cancerous but the discontinued it when the alternative
sweeteners came in. It was a great mixer too. It only tasted unsweet for one
drink and then tasted sweet again.

Even better, why don't they just add soda to fruit juices and forget
the sugar all together.
