Whole Foods Market's lack of ethics

Is Whole Foods in the market of selling food, or
in the business of perpetrating fraud, putting forth
an image of itself that is paper-thin and a far cry
from the truth, in order to get at customers' money?

They appear to:
feign generosity that masks harsh greed
feign friendliness that masks a police-state mentality
feign an attention to quality that masks real food dangers
feign to care about animals with phoney Foundation
feign to be a good employer when really they play dirty

Are they just another stereotypically unethical Texas-based company?

Is that just another stereotypically unethical, pseudonymous, cheap-shot
cross-posting?

Don't worry, bubba, you can sign up for unemployment tomorrow, it's
Monday.

You only make personal attacks because you can't win a debate
based on facts. You give respect to a nasty Texas based company
where none is due.

Go rent "Down And Out in Beverly Hills" - I'm sure you'll see yourself
in it...

I have lived in Texas and have been an almost daily customer of Whole
Foods for 25 years. During this time I have become very well acquainted
with many of their workers. With very few exceptions I have found them
to love their work and to have little but good to say about the way
their work activities are managed. Funny that no real dirt has come to
the surface in my 25 years of almost daily interaction and acquaintance
with Whole Foods staff.

People used to say similar things about Adolph Hitler's bunch.
Your point is?

Though few corporations are without flaw, it does seem like your
energies would be much better spent directed at corporations that are a
bit more worthy of your ire than Whole Foods.

Sorta liked you feigned being a paying customer to raid the bins, eh?

What is it with people who get stuck on a corporation and then start
rallying against it as if anyone else cares?

Must be some sort of disease.

It's a business.  They are there to make money.  Selling food is the means
to make money for the business.  Grow up.

It seems that your attempt to damage the reputation of Whole Foods by
embarking on this cross-posting rant because they got pissed at your
freeloading has backfired.  It's actually had the opposite effect.  Anyone
not knowing much about WF will probably come away from reading the thread
with the impression that it's a pretty good, albeit a little pricey, store,
where you can get some high-end food.
David - 08 Jun 2005 08:29 GMT
I get much better deals shopping at local stores, and I don't see the
small stores going away as a result of Whole Foods. I have heard a
few stories about Whole Foods, but the bottom line is they are too
expensive for me.

We had a friend working there.  Last time we talked to him he said it was a
good place to work.
