I've used melatonin for a while but now I live in a country where its
sale is forbidden. I was considering 5-HTP as a viable alternative,
considering that it is sold here for a fraction of melatonin's cost.
I wonder if, because it is supposed to increase serotonin level, 5-HTp
is better off ingested at morning time, when serotonin is more needed,
or at bedtime. I am worried that, if I take it before going to bed, it
may have a counterproductive effect.
Thank you

Good luck. Many people have nasty flushing and skin crawling reactions to
this compound.

If you live in Canada, I say smuggle it from the States.
I think melatonin is safer than 5-HTP.

It doesn't need to be smuggled into Canada. It is perfectly legal to import
for personal usage.
