Yes it works out great for low carb or even low cal diet so long as you
do not eat anything else for the rest of the day. Or perhaps eat half
for lunch and the other half for dinner? I do not know what people are
so scared of. I eat at least twice as many calories and fat (about
2800 or more, 200+ grams of fat most of it saturated fat from dairy and
coconut and some mono from nuts) in a day as that and at 5 foot 7
inches, 150 pounds I have almost no body fat and plenty of muscle, able
to bench press almost twice my own weight (around 280 last time i
tried). I also maintain my strength and weight with very little effort
or physical activity, just working out twice a week for about an hour.
Sometimes even less than twice a week. I could easily eat well over
3000 calories if I even moderately increased my exercise. A couple
years ago when I was eating a normal American diet with plenty of junk
food with junk refined fats and carbs I weighed around 165 (which had
been slowly creeping up over a few years from 155 since high school)
and was eating less calories (far less of them from fat and a most from
refined carbs) than I do now and was probably just as physically
active. I do not know how that fits into your magical calorie
equations but it is reality for me and many others.
