Speaks well of the med. food tradition and the dash nutrition plan as
analogs of the results. Overall they had lower fat intake and did beter
when more mono fats were used, along with higher gi/gl carbs, which would
speak of more whole carbs and fruits and veggies, in the results, all as
reflected here:

"This inverse association was more pronounced among women with lower
monounsaturated fat (P for interaction = 0.04) and higher carbohydrate
(P for interaction = 0.004) intakes and possibly lower total fat
intake (P for interaction = 0.09)."

Now this seems to be a fairly well done study and it is very
surprising to see something like this.  Those people must be very
brave to risk their jobs with this study.  Rightly condemning not just
high GI carbs but PUFAs as well while promoting saturated fat is a
good way to end your carrier and any hope of future funding.  As for
your Dash diet did you fail to notice that carbs in general were
associated with more progression regardless of the source.  It was
just worse with high GI carbs.  I believe this fits in with a previous
study linking carbs to cancer regardless of what kind of carbs.  by
the way maybe you can explain to me what happened to that so called
"artery clogging" saturated fat.  It sure was not doing its job was
it.

You are confusing the occurrence of small amounts of things in a diet
with the same things in an excessive diet leading to obesity.
