Pesticides in Milk

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) allows up to
60 times more pesticides in feed given to cows than in
crops grown for human consumption.

Unless you eat organic fruits and vegetables, for every
portion of broccoli or rice or corn you eat, you'll
ingest one dose of various pesticides. Should you eat corn
every day for two years, you'll absorb 730 doses. Corn grown
for cows might contain 60 times the amount of pesticide. Cows
eating corn every day for two years might then ingest 43,800
doses. A human sitting atop the food chain drinking one glass
of milk or eating one portion of tainted muscle from her leg
or back will absorb concentrated pesticides. Eat her face
(at Burger King) or her butt (at Wendy's) and you might
ingest more than 15 million doses of pesticides each year.
That adds up to over 1 billion doses during your lifetime.

Proof?

And here's another interesting bit of misinformation from your pal Robert
"notmilk" Cohen..

"Eat soy or any fruit and vegetable, and you get one
dose. Eat organic soy, or organic fruits and
vegetables, and you receive zero doses of pesticides."

That is a blatant LIE.

"Even if a product is considered to be organic, it is still a pesticide. It
is important to be careful when using any pesticide, even organic or natural
pesticides. Just because a product is thought to be organic, or natural,
does not mean that it is not toxic. Some organic pesticides are as toxic, or
even more toxic, than many synthetic chemical pesticides. Organic pesticides
have specific modes of action, just as do synthetic pesticides."

What satisfaction exactly do you clowns get out of this campaign of
misinformation and lies anyway Ronnie?

Its the same deal with Creation "Scientists".  This is what you get
from people who have extreme ideological agendas and they must make at
least an attempt at scientific credibility.  At least enough to fool
uneducated and uninformed people who just do not know better.  If for
every 10 people who hears the lie just 1 person believes it that is
enough for them.  This is the case with Creation Scientists.  So many
lies are repeated so many times over and over that those telling the
truth are simply overwhelmed and can not keep up.  Add to that the
fact that most of the people who buy into these lies and distortions
have little understanding of real science and they in turn spread the
lies to others of like mind and it goes on and on.  Yes it is
misinformation but they do it because it works and they know it.

Gee whiz Douche. I guess the organic guys who don't use pesticides of
any kind stand to make a fortune.

Thanks for not denying that you and Cohen are liars.

Thanks for assuming that all organic growers use pesticides of one
type or another. More proof of your ignorance concerning the
production of food.

I made no such assumption, let me remind me of the issue here, of Mr
NotMilk's lie.

"Eat soy or any fruit and vegetable, and you get one dose. Eat organic soy,
or organic fruits and vegetables, and you receive zero doses of pesticides."

This is just one of the falsehoods you and he promote.

You can't grow plants without pesticides.
If you don't apply them, the plants will make them.

Nope, because they aren't doing that, and if they were, you wouldn't be
buying them anyway.   What part of 'organic pesticides are toxic' don't you
understand, killer?

Don't forget that plants make their own pesticides that can have
activity against insects, animals, or even other plants (the last is
called allelopathy).  Soy makes phytoestrogens (yes, steroid hormones)
that can alter an animal's ability to reproduce.  Many plant toxins
are designed to keep them from being eaten in the long term: cyanide,
alkaloids, and an array of toxins that are perfectly natural, albeit
bad for us and other animals that haven't come up with adaptations to
handle them.

Does the fact that plants contain their own pesticides make them bad?
No.  It's an issue of type and dose -- the same that applies to
organic and conventional pesticides.
