I recently switched to whole wheat pancakes in the hope of lowering cholesterol
and eventualy cutting down on the meds. The box says to add olive oil and eggs
to the mix. I know that eggs are a nono for cholesterol. does anyone know if in
the context of whole wheat if that neutralizes the cholesterol?

There isn't anything in the whole wheat that neutralizes the cholesterol.
Whole wheat and fiber seem to help protect the heart and lower cholestrol,
but this doesn't necessarily mean that the whole wheat neutralizes the
cholestorol.
You might be able to use egg whites only (which is what Egg Beaters is). The
yellow contains most of the cholesterol and saturated fat. So you save
around 200 mg of cholesterol and 5 g of fat.(The RDA for cholesterol is 300
mg).
It sounds like you should ask your doc to make an appointment for you with
a nutritionist. I am glad you asking this question, but without knowing your
medical history and more about your diet, lifestyle and goals, it is hard to
give you more useful advice. But, please keep asking questions.

How many are you intending to eat? A few eggs are a fine food. Dietary
cholesterol has little connection to dyslipidaemia. Obesity, lack of
exercise and genetics are far more important players.

Usually with pancake mixes you can omit the eggs and it still makes good
pancakes. You might have to add a little more liquid.
