Worthless anecdotal evidence. My grandfather smoked until he died at
95, I suppose Brian Maxwell could have lived longer if he started
smoking.
Everyone has an upper limit for how long they will live, that can not
be changed through diet, exercise, etc. Living a healthy lifestyle
will allow someone to reach their potential no more.

Besides, world-class competition level sport does not qualify as healthy
lifestyle... Between strains on their body (joints, muscles, metabolism...),
drugs both legal and illegal, stress, weird nutrition designed for
performances rather than health, exhaustion and the rest, high level sport
is very taxing... Many professionnals are a complete wreck in their fifties,
especially since many start to put on a lot of weight as soon as they stop
competition. Maradonna is not alone, look at most ex-soccer champions, many
are now overweight and run high blood lipids.
