Too much iron wrinkles vision, according to new work. Mice that lack two
iron-oxidizing enzymes show signs of age-related macular degeneration, the most
common cause of vision loss in elderly people. The study suggests that drugs
that reduce iron amounts might prevent or slow the disease.

Drugs are never good long term solutions. Drugs that would reduce iron
amounts would most certainly produce undesirable side effects
The effect of too much iron is simply to increase oxidative stress. Macular
degenaration is not necessary present only with an iron metabolism problem.
Many other causes of oxydative stress can contribute as well.
Antioxidants are the best solution against macular degeneration. Usana has
