Hames recently wrote that protein must be ingested daily which implied to me
that lack of daily requirement might cause a deficiency.  Is anyone aware of
this problem?

I find it hard to believe that some biological process ticks at midnight and
puts protein-intake to 0... I guess "daily" means "daily *average* over a
*short* period of time" or something like this. You have to cut the line
somewhere and use words instead of sentences when you want to communication
health information. So, "daily" was probably found a decent shorthand.
