A few times during the past year, food got stuck near the top of esophagus.
I was able to wash them down by gulping water or some liquids. But it
usually takes a few gulps and is very uncomfortable until the food goes
down. It could take half a minute to "fix". Usually, I don't notice the
problem until it gets really uncomforable. Then I wonder why I didn't pause
and drink something more often.

I remember I was eating noodles at one of these episodes.

Is this something to worry about? Any easy prevention or solution? This
never happened until the past two years.

James,
You should discuss this problem with your doctor. The doctor will probably
arrange for you to have an X-Ray of your esophagus. You may have to drink
a barium solution prior to the X-Ray. The X-Ray is to rule in or rule out
serious problems.
