So I have 3 'common cold' spells lasting for 4-5 months. Third one is
still continuing. On earlier occasions doctors gave me treatment for
common cold, sinus, allergy. But it was not working. So doctor told me
to check blood. I was sure that pathalogist will find 'malaria' even
though it is not malaria. That is what happened. I knew I don't have
malaria. But still took those malaria pills. Nothing happened. Common
cold was still there. I stopped consulting doctors. After few months
it was gone automatically.
Same problem is now. First i consulted family doctor. Then I consulted
second doctor. I told doctor that I have history of long spells of
common cold. I am regular smoker. I suggested doctor for chest x ray.
He said, 'not necessary'.
Now I consulted third doctor. He also said that chest x-ray is not
necessary. I virtually forced him to do chest x ray. And he detected
bronchitis. All my symptons agree with bronchitis.
I will do what is necessary to cure bronchitis. But I am disappointed
with so called qualified doctors. If I had not forced to do chest x-
ray this problem would have continued and it can be fatal.
High density lipid - 43.
Low density lipid - 134.
Platelets - 391000/cmm.
Blood pressure - 130/80.
But it is normal for doctor. I asked him, 'how exactly stress leads to
artery blockades?'.
He could not answer.
What if I am under stress?
So be the torch of logic with you when you go to the doctor.

The most important thing you can do to cure your bronchitis is to stop
smoking. Pretty much all smokers develop chronic bronchitis.

If you don't quit smoking, the problem will continue and get worse.
The only value of the chest x-ray was to make you take the problem
more seriously. However, if it doesn't make you take it seriously
enough to stop smoking, it was of no value.

Smoking is a much higher risk factor for heart disease than your lipid
profile or your level of stress. It also greatly increases your risk of
several forms of cancer, COPD, and a number of other debilitating chronic
or more rapidly fatal conditions. About half of smokers die of conditions
caused by smoking.
>So be the torch of logic with you when you go to the doctor.
The torch of logic says your problem is caused and exacerbated by smoking.
I'm sure your doctor has told you that, and you know it too. But you are
demonstrating real denial by blaming your problems on the doctors, and not
your smoking.
It's not easy to break a nicotine habit, but you can do it. Most people
have to try several methods before they find one that works permanently
for them, so don't give up if your first efforts fail. One of the more
effective methods is the nicotine patch, which lets you tackle the physical
and psychological aspects of the addiciton separately, but there are other
methods that work too.

You're going to stop smoking then. Excellent!

Correct. Smoking causes long cancer, bladder cancer, stomach cancer, mouth
cancer, emphysema, heart disease, strokes, etc.

Not only is it normal for doctors, it is normal for patients.

Yesterday I reduced it to 5 instead of 15-20 cigarettes.

Doctor told that some people are 'god gifted'. Nothing happens to them
no matter how much they smoke. But I am NOT going to assume that I am
'god gifted'. I am cutting down smoking to less than 25%.

Normal reading are as follows.
HDL - 59.
LDL - 100.
Platelets - 275000/cmm.
BP - 115/75.

I would suggest going down to 0%.
Speaking of God, did you know this week the Christian season of Lent begins.
It is traditional for for Christians to give up something, like candy or
soda until Easter. Guess what I suggest you give up? But forever, not just
until Easter.
