Is this still Prostatitis?

Hi all,

I was diagnosed with prostatitis 2 years ago. I was treated with
antibiotics which appeared to help. I've occasionally felt prostatitis
symptoms since, but they have come and gone.

I have very pronounced symptoms right now, and would appreciate if any
of you think it sounds like it's still prostatitis:

- burning pain in my right abdomen and urethra when urinating
- pain in the rectum
- pain in the testicles

Is there any other condition that could account for this?

Thanks,

Paul

Dunno and wouldn't trust information in a NG from a stranger anyhow.

But I would observe that if it's a prostatic infection you need to get yourself
to a competent urologist ASAP and start in on an antibiotic that has significant
prostatic penetration.   You *really* don't want those infectious organisms to
get any deeper into your prostate than absolutely necessary.

I say this having suffered from more-or-less chronic prostatitis for many years
- mainly, I believe, due to inadequate treatment of my first infections.
