Hello All.
Thanks in advance for reading.
I am a 38 yo male living in the UK. About 2 years ago, I had a
endoscopy
done and a esophageal ulcer was found caused by reflux and I was put
on
30mg of Lansoprazole 2 times a day. A second endoscopy showed that it
was
healing nicley.
For the last six weeks or so I have had the same symptoms but also a
pain
in my breast bone area.
The doc put me on 2 30mg of Lansoprazole per day, 3-4 weeks ago and the
sysmptoms seems to be getting worse.
Went to see my GP again and he is not convinced this is a
ulcer/esophageal issue
as he says the pain in my chest does not sound like an esophageal one
but a more
to do with the chest wall.
The pain I get in my chest is under the breast bone mainly just to the
left
and seems to be getting worse (Over 6 week period now) When I get up, I
feel a cramp pain type feeling and feel it when I take a deep breath or
sometimes just move and catch it. But it is generally there all the
time. However I ran 3 miles twice last week without any problem.
I also have pains under the arms (on/off but becoming more often).
I get a presure type feeling in my throat/ears and lump type feeling
when
swallowing and throat sensation (Same as I had with the ulcer)
He seems to have no idea and sent me for a chest xray and I get the
results in
about a week.
Any ideas where to go next ?. Could this still be a esophageal issue or
an infection of some kind ? or somthing else ?.
Thanks very much in advance and sorry for being a pain (No pun
intended)
Spence.

It could be a lot of things. The big one I worry about is heart pain. You're
pretty young for heart problems like that, but certainly not too young. And
heart attacks and other problems do happen to people your age.
I don't know why the doc took a chest x-ray.
It does sound like it is related to your digestive tract. However, we didn't
get a full history or do an examine.
I would suggest making another appointment with your doctor to review the
findings from the chest x-ray.
You may also want to get a second opinion.

You're not a pain. That's what we are here for.
