doctors should aim for lower levels of red blood cells in their
patients

Now seeing that this doctor is describing .. BELOW .. 'accepted lab
values' .. then this would / should cause a HEADS UP .. in the medical
community.
Simply because .. the lab values accepted as .. SAFE .. have been shown
to be linked to increased death.
Soooo .. how many in cardiac care are walking around WITH .. these
accepted values of .. SAFE .. ?
Probably quite a .. few ..
Seeing that .. 'they' .. are .. EVER PRESENT .. to ENSURE .. you are
KEPT in this .. state of .. what seems / EVIDENCE based .. to ... KILL
.. you ..
With friends like these ..
INCREASED risk of death at .. 13.5 .. 14 is considered .. 'normal' ..

I suppose since the latest study showed increased risk of death in
those with **NORMAL** hemoglobin .. http://tinyurl.com/y2m753 .. the
FACT one has increased risk of death with .. smoking / polycythemia /
erythrocytosis / increased red blood cells .. AND increased iron /
erythrocytosis / polycythemia / increased red blood cells .. would
give .. CREDENCE .. to **increased red blood cell production** to being
.. VERY .. bad .. and ALSO .. the possibility of .. **normal** .. being
.. JUST .. simply .. bad .. therefore .. **WRONG** ..

As for heart disease, a study conducted among 1,900 middle-aged men in
Finland indicated that a high iron level was second only to smoking as
a cause of heart attacks.

Of concern only for those taking that kind of drug, no concern forall
else. Generalizing the rare to the total is almost always invalid as we
see again and again and again by this poster.
