I am sorry to hear about your son's problems.
When you are obese and homeless, it is hard to find a job. In addition, a
lot of chronically homeless people have other problems, often mental
illness. It is hard to lose weight when you are homeless, especially with
self-esteem issues. It is vicious negative cycle.
I think the best thing you can do for your son now is to get him in contact
with the homeless angencies and other agencies where is lives and help him
get stable housing, mental health care, physical health care and a job. I
know all of this is real tough, but, I think solving the social problems
will go a long way towards helping the medical ones.

Thank you Jeff. No doubt you are correct. Unfortunately, he seems to have
some sort of misplaced pride issues which prevent his getting aid and I
have nothing to offer except advice.
And yes... it is sad. Even sadder are the thousands of homeless that are
in the same situation..
If only people realized that most of us are only an illness away from
being on the streets, people might start doing something about those who
have had a bit of bad luck, eh?.
Thanks again,
