Hello,
I was wondering if there are any good websites/books that give you
basic information on what you should do to stay healthy.
I think that I'm doing a descent job in terms of diet, and I try to
stay active...but I'm wondering if maybe I should go to the doctor
once a year for general checkups, or I should be checking behind my
left ear for...
Thanks!

-Kendi,
Heart Disease kills about 650,000 to 700,000 people per year so that is
one disease that you should be the most concerned about. The best book
that I have found related to that subject is:

STOP INFLAMMATION NOW--A STEP BY STEP PLAN TO PREVENT, TREAT, AND REVERSE
INFLAMMATION--THE LEADING CAUSE OF HEART DISEASE AND RELATED CONDITIONS
by Richard M. Fleming, M.D. (cardiologist)

It's written for people not in the medical profession so therefore, it's
easy for anyone to understand.

It's easier to prevent inflammtation than it is to reverse it. Many of the
blood pressure medications and cholesterol medications have side effects
that can mess up your quality of life. I hope that you never have to take
those sorts of medications so read the book and follow Dr. Fleming's
advice.
I wish you well,
Jason
