Since last Winter I have area to right of navel that is puffed out sort
of, about size of palm maybe, and it tends to hurt a little and feel
tension there when bend over, sort of tight feeling. Seems to bother me
most when I bend over a lot, work at computer, the pain worse in
evening and some better in morning, not much problem sleeping unless
roll over. I have a good family friend who is an orthopedic surgeon and
while at his home he probed the area and could not feel anything
abnormal. He also looked at CAT scan of the area made for a kidney
stone. The area was raised back then too.. He could see no problem on
the scan , no sign of tumor or hernia. He said it might be a mild
hernia and may need MRI to see. I worry still aits tumor or something
but he says unlikely. Anyone ever experience something like this as a
hernia?. I also get a lot of gas and such too but that may be from
anxiety and swollen air which i am prone to do, Family doctor also
looked at area last winter when in about kidney stone and did not think
ti was much but it is more sore these days.

Might be an umbilical hernia, but if your doctors can't find anything
wrong, is it really worth worrying about? A hernia serious enough to
be a potential problem is usually pretty easy to find on examination.
A very mild hernia might be something you might feel as being "out of
place," but might be too slight for a doctor to identify on
examination. If it's that slight, though, it's not going to
strangulate.
