Bizarre Back Pain

I get this pain in my lower back when I run, say after around 1km that forces
me to stop strech and then I can carry on for another bit then I have to do
the same. I strecth before I run, but it feels as if the muscles in my lower
back just go totally solid.

However, as was the case last night, I am rugby training at the moment. So
there is a mixture of distance running and sprints etc.

On the inital run my back siezed up, however after the sprints we had another
run and my back was fine. This is generally the case that after core work and
sprints or a game of 'touch rugby' my back doesn't seem to hurt anymore.

It is also the case that if i play any other sport in the form of a game, ie;
squash, football, rugby, tennis hockey my back doesn't hurt.

Please can anyone solve this mystery as I have been to
physio's/chiropractors/Doctors I have had scans and nothing.

I think that your main problem for the disturbance is the inflamants in
your back muscles, which is much more common in your daily life, such
as when you sleep, you had the bed not covered ok, and the back muscles
was cooler at that time. You would go and have some  heat on your back,
in that way, maybe you can feel better.

Wish you can satisfied with this answer...

Thank you for your swift response....

I didn't mention bed...when I get up in the morning my back does feel tight
and fairly painful if I try and bend over and touch my toes. But after a
while the pain goes. This is not a pain that I feel at anyother time unless i
run as mentioned above or in the morning.

I did spend a might in a tempura bed, the sponge stuff that moulds around
your body and my back was good the next day?!?!

So in summary of your response - you recommend heat before running? Would
something like deep heat the cream be enough? Is there anything other than
heat that i could do to stop it? I guess stretching is gong to help much.

Regards

Nick
