Hi.. I am interesting in learning more about lbyrinitis.. I had once
back in sept of last year and again just recently as 2 wks ago.. I get
the symptoms soon after my monthly menstrual cycle.. Or, just during
it.. Heavy volume of menstruation.. and awful cramps.. ER doctor told
me that it si possible that this is connected.. I am also told the
labyrinthitis is connected with other viruses.. Such as colds, or
stress.. Can anyone help me understand and how I can deal with this
disease since it may be I have this chronically as well.
I have ben given antivert for dizziness and nausia as needed.. Havne't
needed to take it because I rest a lot when I am not feeling to good to
sit or stand for long periods of time.. I am feeling better and still
some balance issues..
Thanks and will be looking forward to hearing from anyone on this
subject.

I thought it was post viral or at least infectious and inflammatory
"itis" although it is more of an assumed thing rather than a
pathologically confirmed thing. The menstrual connection is puzzeling
to me. The water retention thing that happens with hormones is one
thing but it is not inflammatory as far as I know. I don't see the
connection although maybe somebody else out there might want to comment
on. I would get an ENT specialist to look into that. It might be
something else if not related to infections.

Thanks.. I had thought of that yesterday and I am going to look into
seeing a specialist.. Just my understanding was that it could be a
number of things.. But since I had this twice and it seems to occur
during and or after my menstrual cycles, is intriguing..
