While waiting for a Colonoscopy, I have take to Google; not
necessarily a wise thing to do.
I am male and in my fifties with a history of melanoma with no
recurences for over twenty years.
I have had RLQ pain for over two months.
Last year, an US was negative for gallstones.
I have been referred to a general surgeon and have had an abdominal CT
with oral contrast and IV contrast. Nothing sinister showed up. Next
Colonoscopy, then PET scan.
In the mean time I have gotten out my "retrospectroscope" and here are
some of my signs and symptoms.
Chronic halitosis (sometimes fecal breath).
Last summer: RLQ pain for several days. RLQ like a board, I could play
the drum on that side. An US was negative for gallstones. Pain went
away.
January this year: gradual build up to moderate to severe
periumbilical pain over a few days. Took to bed on a Saturday evening
and took a Difene (that had been prescribed for pain in arms due to
cervical ribs)
I was so cold in bed that I was shivering and my legs were all achey.
I also realised that my pain was now in a much smaller point in RLQ.
Next day I was queasy and had no appetite but would eat if something
was put in front of me.
Of cours, by Monday when I saw my doctor the only symptom was RLQ pain
which had subsided to a dull ache which is still there
The lymph nodes in my right groin were removed years ago (blocked
disection?)
One scar goes up onto my belly about two inches.
Sometimes it fells like something catching or pulling in RLQ of my
belly. Adhesions, internal hernia?
Any comments or questions welcome.
My surgeon was away last appointment so I didn't get to ask what he
was thinking

Do you still have your appendix?
