I don't know if i am paranoid or not but lately I have been having a
small pain in my left sidejust below my rib cage. If i bend in that
direction sometimes it will feel uncomfortable. I do drink alcohol
regularly and i am wondering if there is a chance i could be feeling
the first signs of something bad happening with my liver. I have been
researching this for a few days and i am curious if i should goto a
doctor or not?

the pain feels like a very small piercing pain...

i am only 19 and i also am wondering how long does it take for your
liver to start feeling signs of disease or other things?

I'd appreciate an opinion.
thank you very much.

Your best option is to see your doctor. It might be an ulcer, liver
problem or something else. Blood tests should provide
the evidence that your doctor needs. In addition, your doctor can
arrange for you to have an X-Ray to determine if you have an ulcer.
I am not a doctor. In the mean time, you may want to do a google
search for cirrhosis and ulcer.
