Thalassemia is caused by a defect in one or more of the genes that hold
the instructions for producing hemoglobin.

Treatment for thalassemia depends on the severity of the condition.
Thalassemia may be mild, moderate, or severe.

Mild thalassemia is the most common form and does not require
treatment.

Moderate thalassemia  may be treated with:
Folic acid, Iron suplements etc.
