Those who commit suicide by taking the exhaust from the tail
pipe of their cars report that it is pretty painless .
This could be a humane way of killing animals for food , just
pump CO into the hall and it doesnt form any toxic products.

How the hell can you commit suicide and then report that it is pretty
painless.  I think that you need to rephrase that.

What about carboxyhemoglobin?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carboxyhemoglobin

"COHb has a half-life in the blood of from 4 to 6 hours."

Presumably that half-life will be extended by refrigeration.

Presumably COHb decomposes, reforming haemoglobin and CO.
