Hi, would anyone know why anti-inflammatory drugs would
suppress the proliferation of Demodex mites on the scalp?
Apparently, anti-inflammatories taken over time will decrease
the size of the Demodex population on the human scalp.
Thanks.

Are you saying mites are an immflamatory condition? I thought they were
microscopic arachnids?

Here is my unsubstantiated conjecture:
(1) Demodex mites eat dead skin cells and exudates (perspiration,
"oils") from the skin.
(2) When the owner of the skin is taking certain anti-inflammatory
drugs, there are fewer dead skin cells available, or perhaps less of
the exudates.
