for how long will my gum next to the extraction site be sore.

its 9 days since the extraction of my lower right 1st molar, and the gum
is sore during the day, I sleep fine.

i do not have dry socket, i eat regular for the past 7 days and exercise
everyday, and even had a few marinis this week.

but the outside area onthe side of the extraction, onthe gum is sore, not
swollen just sore.

the hole that was left by the extraction is closing nicely but the
soreness is bothersome, How long will this soreness last.????

Idea #1 is tell your dentist.
Idea #2 and #3 is rub some Oragel or powdered cloves on the affected area.

Dipping your finger into powdered cloves works great for paper cuts too.

Not unusual.  Also, dry socket is not an all-or-none entity--it is
possible (and in fact very common) to get a mild osteitis, esp. after
extraction of lower molars.
Sometimes a small piece of devitalized bone breaks off (sequesters)
after extraction. While these generally work their way to the surface
and are lost on their own eventually, sequestrae can certainly retard
healing.
It's worth a look by your dentist to check this out.

what do you mean 'dry socket' is not an all-or-none  entity? explain
pleeze....

the extraction site after nine [9] days is closing nicely, there isnt any
foul odor or bad taste,it doesnt hurt on top,  it just sore on the outside
gum, next to the extraction site.

soreness is the operative word here, i called my dentist, havnt seen him
again since the 9 days, but he says as long as its not throbbing or
getting worse, its just the healing process.

i buy it for the time being,

but how long will this area be sore????????????

Socket may seem to be closing, even in the presence of inflamed bone
underneath.
After 2 weeks, soreness should clearly be diminishing, or should be
checked, just to make sure.
