Question about cigarette smoke

I currently have a temporary job in a building where most employees
smoke. A few of them do go outside and smoke, but most of them just
stay inside the lunchroom and light up either during breaks or lunch.
And they also smoke in the bathroom while sitting on the toilet.

The smell of cigarette smoke is causing a fellow employee to complain
to the manager, but the man himself smokes and he said there's not much
he can do. For whatever it's worth, this is contrary to the local city
ordinance (Austin) which prohibits smoking inside a workplace, but this
is a temporary position (6 months) and I don't want to turn them in. I
need a paycheck!

The air conditioning works okay, but there is not much fresh air coming
in unless somebody opens the front door. So I am thinking, what are the
risks to my health breathing in all this crap every few hours or so? Am
I smelling just the odor, or am I also inhaling the smoke particles?

Thanks for any insight.

Check cross-posting before replying, everybody.  It's a troll.

I am no troll. It's a real question for those who might have an answer.

P.S.: Who appointed you president of the Internet anyhow?
