The Digital Divide
& Economic Justice, or Not

The Welfare Law Center's Low-Income Networking and Communications
(LINC) Project is a nationally recognized initiative to enable
low-income grassroots groups to use technology strategically to advance
campaigns on economic security issues and to build their members'
leadership and computer technology skills.

Communications technology, including e-mail and the world wide web, has
revolutionized our society. An effective technology strategy is fast
becoming an essential ingredient of successful efforts to engage
citizens in public debates on critical issues, to build coalitions, and
to shape public policy. Individuals also need technology skills to
succeed in our fast-moving economy.

Yet, low-income people and minorities are much less likely to have
access to technology.

This "digital divide" undermines their ability to participate fully in
the democratic process and to compete in the job market. The LINC
Project works to address these challenges. Its pioneering work has been
featured in The Chronicle of Philanthropy, the Dallas Morning News and
Responsive Philanthropy Quarterly."

Even the NYC Public Library
For Business & Medicine
only allows computer use for people
with a library card.

This descriminates.

Funded by the Opne Society Institute, aka George Soros, aka an elitist
semi-communist billionaire.  Sounds like a hell of a group.
