Well, it snuck up on me this year that I gained 10 lbs to 147 lbs from
the 137 lbs I started the year 2005. I bought too much ice cream and
pie in November and December.

But the problem is easily remedied. I can fast for 2 or even 3 days in
a row without eating any food. It is easy for me to fast and I lose 3
lbs per day of fasting.

But Fasting is only part of the equation of proper dieting. The other
major part is the fact that modern society has made good tasting food
so prevalent and cheap and easy to storage. If the USA had no adequate
refrigeration and freezer, then obesity would probably be rare. So we
have vast numbers of great tasting foods in stores and we have ample
storage in refrigerators and freezers. So fasting is part of the
equation, but the other part is that we must cut down on the good foods
we buy in the grocery store. And we must eat up all the food in the
home before we go shopping for food in a major shopping.

I have unplugged the freezer since the beginning of 2005. And I put
alot of seeds and water in the refrigerator so as to take up space. And
when I shop for food I keep in mind that I have limited space in the
refrigerator. And after a major shopping,  I must eat up all that food
before I can do another major shopping. The reason being is that with
too much great tasting food around, I tend to binge eat, especially on
ice cream and pies and turnovers and cookies and chocolates. So as the
food supply shrinks, those foods remaining are less tasty and thus I
eat less proportions. And also I clean out the house of all foods, and
I save alot of money. And I get back down to 137 lbs which was the
weight I had during High School.

People when they diet do sometimes Fast. But often they do not focus or
realize that the major reason for obesity is the vast increase of great
tasting foods and the over buying in large quantity of these great
tasting foods. So naturally, the tendency will be to overeat because
they are around and in large quantity in your refrigerator and freezer.

So to maintain the weight of my High School years I Fast and I only buy
ice cream during the holidays, and I keep a small refrigerator, and
finally I go shopping for food in a major shopping event only when I
have eaten the house out of its present food.

So with the combination of Fasting and buying little food at the
grocery store, I can maintain 137 lbs.

I think that's the only way to diet too. I wait til my refrigerator is
empty too, and I only buy vegetables, meats and never anything sugary
like desserts or biscuits.
