Hi all
i am 29, suffer from daily headaches...my orthopedist says its do to my
herniated disc (C5)
recommends anterior cervical discectomy fusion c5 & c6.
He said it should stop my daily headaches. on a side not I have barely
any arm pain.
Brief history
Since my car accident 4 yrs ago i have had a headache everyday.
Ive tried
acupuncture
biofeedback
physical therapy
trigger point injections
botox
chiropractor
every med and herb known to man lol
currently on flexeril and it does help alot...but starting to become
immune (and yes ive tried other muscle relaxers)
PS i am going for a second opinion w/ a neurosurgeon, just want to do
more research and get advice from others as well.

has anyone had it done and have any success??
Is it as dangerous as it sounds?

The operation is major surgery and carries about a 5% risk of
paralysis or other neurological function loss.
Such operations can be very effective in relieving symptoms due to
nerve compression (extremity weakness, sensory loss, etc.), but do
little to relieve "axial" pain (pain in the neck or back).
The second opinion from a neurosurgeon is an excellent idea.
