Syringe Lubrication

Hi,
I have an oral syringe that I frequently use to measure out dosages of
oral suspensions but lately the plunger has gotten very sticky and hard
to use. What should I use to lubricate it that won't contaminate the
medicine or eat away at the rubber? I plan on getting a new one but
until then any suggestions? I've tried things like butter and vegetable
oil but they are barely good for one use.

Thanks

Oh and sorry for cross posting.

Rubber plungers are usually rolled in Medical grade silicone oil (typically,
Dow-Jones 360), or less frequently soaked in an emulsion of the same.

Since it is quite expensive and difficult to obtain, why not just stop into
a pharmacy and get one.  Many will give them out at no cost here in the
'states'.
