About ten days ago I injured my ankle. It becmae infected and I went to a
drop in clinic where the wound was cleaned
and I was told to keep it clean and use Neosporin on it. They prescribed
amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium tablets 2 daily X10 days. After 36 hours
I developed a case of terrible diarrhea. I d/c taking the meds and returned
to the clinic where they prescribed tequin 400mg a day. They told me to eat
a meal, take acidophilus (which I do anyway) and eat yogurt which should
stop diarrhea from developing. I haven't taken the tequin yet. I
really don't want to have diarrhea for the next ten days or so. Anything
else I can doo to avoid the trots?

You informed your doctor of your .. aftereffects .. and he changed your
prescription ..
It is quite common for someone to respond likewise to one prescription
antibiotic and NOT respond the same to another ..
Who loves ya.

Try eating basic yoghurt if you are lactose tolerant.

Take Immodium for diarrhea.

Pepto-Bismol is very effective against diarrhea; so is Immodium.
A more natural solution might be psyllium (husks of Plantago
psyllium), a kind of plant material that is usually powdered and
contains a tremendous amount of indigestible, inert plant fiber. You
can add this to a beverage and drink it once a day, and it will
provide indigestible bulk that will help prevent diarrhea. Psyllium
is often used in laxatives, but ironically it also works against
diarrhea; in both cases, the large volume of fiber evens out the
behavior of the GI tract and helps to prevent extremes like
constipation and diarrhea. Best of all, it's not medication, so it's
harmless and you can take it for as long as you wish (even on a
permanent basis as a dietary supplement, if you don't get enough fiber
in your diet).

acidophillus and the new antibotic worked. I'll try psyllium next. Like
natural over chemical.
