Side Effects after Hepatits B Vaccination

Hi! I'm a 21 year old female... I've just gotten the second dose of
Hepatitis B vaccination on my left arm and at the injection site,
there's been pus formation (no discharges, though) but I felt a hard
lump at the site itself and after squishing it, it slowly subsided and
now a much smaller lump is still at the site... I had the injection
about 2-3 weeks ago...

And now, I'm currently experiencing a tormenting neck ache on the left
side, I can't even turn my head left/right... And around the posterior
triangle area of the neck is swollen (as compared to the right) and the
muscles there are tense... I've tried massaging it but to only find the
condition to worsen... It's been a week and I'm REALLY worried if
there's any other underlying conditions... So far, I have no medical
concerns... Does this have to do with the vaccination? I read somewhere
that neck aches are a rare side effect of the Hep. B vaccination... Do
I have something to worry about?

Thanks so much for your response! :D

Don't use the word "pus" unless you've actually seen the fluid. Not all
lumps are full of pus. Anyway, it's an inflammatory word :) which
shouldn't be mis-used.

The reaction is unlikely to be the vaccine itself (especially after
this long), but you can always get a bacterial infection at the
injection site. See a doc tomorrow and have your temperature taken and
your neck lymph nodes checked out.

The hepB vaccine, by the way, is a protein vaccine and doesn't contain
any virus or other organisms.
