Staphylococcus infections

Can a staph infected skin wound be transferred into the body and manifest
itself as other symptoms such as fever?

Specify the staphylococcus to which you are referring. If you mean _S.
aureus_, then yes, it can go systemic and cause fever. It is a rather
inocuous bug for most people, but it can cause death in some
infections. It's also one that causes problems in hospital-acquired
infections.
