Hiya,
I'm in my mid-forties and was sent to the ultrasound
department to get a better look at my liver. Originally
the reason WHY was because the colesteral was a little
high and I think they wanted to see how well the liver
was handling some prescription drugs I'm on as well.
Trouble is (if there's trouble) the technician took a
'grand tour' of all my internal organs instead(!) I
didn't mind the process but am curious to know how come.

COMMENT:
I hope they had a better reason than that! Otherwise you and your
insurance company just got ripped off a lot of money.

It seems to be standard here too; at least for relevant areas of the
body. My pelvic ultrsounds always include kidneys etc.
